Miss Kirkby

Hello and welcome to Reception L.

The teacher in this class is Miss Kirkby and the Teaching Assistant is Miss Boyle.

Each child in RL is unique and special. We learn to be strong and independent through building strong and positive relationships. Our classroom is an enabling environment allowing us to experience stimulating resources. We learn and develop in lots of different ways and our teachers provide opportunities for challenge, support and exploration through play.

Tapestry is our learning journey that allows you to view your child’s journey through school online. You can access pictures and even upload some yourself. The children love showing and sharing with the rest of the class, what they have been up to at the weekend through these pictures that are uploaded.

READING:

Please read with your child daily, asking them the key questions about the story and the characters.

PE DAYS:

Children are to come into school on Thursdays and Fridays in their PE kits with trainers. We will be taking part in Physical Fridays – completing fine and gross motor skills/activities. Please ensure ALL kit is labelled with your child’s name.

PHONICS:

We use Read, Write, Inc, the children will be learning sounds, digraphs and trigraphs and they will be able to blend and segment .

SNACK:

Please also remember £1.50 snack money each Monday. This can be given in termly if needed.

ATTENDANCE:

Our class attendance target is 96.5%.
